How to Find the Right Pediatrician

Finding the perfect pediatrician for you and your family is an important decision. However, it doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Whether you're pregnant or new to the area and looking for a pediatrician, these tips can help you choose a pediatrician that fits your needs.

1. Ask for Recommendations

Talk to family and friends who have kids. Ask them about their experience with their pediatrician, the staff, and the ease of getting same-day appointments.

Speak to your OB-GYN about pediatrician recommendations. Your current care team can inform you of who is accepting new patients, their credentials, and their reputation.

2. Check Insurance Coverage

Make sure you know what insurance they accept, check your health insurance coverage to make sure your potential pediatrician is an in-service provider. Ask about the office policies for co-payments and any other fees you might be responsible for covering.

3. Find a Convenient Location

When choosing a pediatrician, look for a doctor with a location close to where you live and work. Also, check the hours of operations to ensure the appointment times work for you and your schedule.
