Arlington, VA (August 18, 2025) –
VHC Health, a community-based health system providing medical services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area, is proud to announce its national recognition by the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association for its commitment to delivering high-quality stroke care. VHC Health has earned the 2025 Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll designation. These prestigious honors reflect VHC Health’s dedication to consistently applying the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment guidelines to improve patient outcomes in stroke care.

“This recognition is a testament to the incredible dedication of our entire team,” said Christopher T. Lane, President and CEO of VHC Health. “Beyond the awards, the most important takeaway is that achieving these benchmark metrics translates directly into better outcomes for our patients. This mission is what drives our work every day.”

To earn these recognitions, VHC Health met rigorous achievement criteria, including performance on stroke care quality measures and management of patients with Type 2 diabetes who are at increased risk for cardiovascular events.
