Virginia Hospital Center Partners with Arlington Free Clinic to Vaccinate Essential Workers
Arlington, VA: Updated January 11, 2021 –Virginia Hospital Center (VHC), a community-based hospital providing medical services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area for 75 years, is partnering with the Arlington Free Clinic to vaccinate 50 patients on Monday, January 11 as Arlington County moves into Phase 1b of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) vaccine distribution plan. VHC plans to continue to offer vaccines to Arlington Free Clinic patients going forward.

Patients eligible to receive the vaccine were identified and registered for appointments by the Arlington Free Clinic. At this time, the COVID vaccine is only available to individuals who meet the criteria outlined by VDH in Phases 1a and 1b of the vaccine distribution plan including healthcare personnel, frontline essential workers, and individuals over the age of 75. The COVID vaccine is not currently available to the greater Arlington community. “Our patients have been deeply impacted by the lasting effects of this pandemic,” said Nancy White, Executive Director, Arlington Free Clinic. “We are thrilled to be able to start offering them relief from some of the stressors of the last year by providing access to this vaccine.”
The vaccine clinics at the Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) are for AFC patients only. Virginia Hospital Center is partnering with Arlington County to vaccinate Arlington County residents 75 years and older, and the County is conducting vaccination clinics to address the other County residents that fall within the Phase 1b category.
