Arlington, VA (April 24, 2018)— Virginia Hospital Center Health System is pleased to announce the addition of Betsy Frantz as Vice President & Chief Development Officer and President of the Virginia Hospital Center Health System Foundation, the philanthropic and fundraising arm of the Health System.

In these roles, she leads the Health System's efforts to build relationships and partnerships across Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC, metropolitan area to advance medical excellence through philanthropy. She will also lead the fund-raising efforts for the Hospital's $250-million campus Master Facility Plan.

Virginia Hospital Center Health System's campus expansion project, scheduled to begin later this year, will bring much-needed space to the hospital campus to meet the growing healthcare needs of the area and enhance patient accessibility. In addition to acquiring the adjacent Edison site, the project will include the development of an Outpatient Pavilion which will allow the Hospital to move outpatient services to the north side of the campus, freeing up much needed space to expand inpatient beds (medical, surgical and mental health capacity) and emergency services on the south side of the campus. The project will also include a garage to address current parking deficiencies and enhance patient/visitor accessibility, and meet the future needs of the campus.

"Betsy Frantz is the perfect addition to our leadership team. Her commitment to the community is right in line with the culture of our Health System," said James B. Cole, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia Hospital Center Health System. "We are excited to have someone like Ms. Frantz on our team who is so widely recognized as a coalition builder and top leader in the community." Frantz was previously the founder and President & CEO of Leadership Center for Excellence in Arlington. There, she led and grew the organization to become nationally recognized as a community leadership development program. More than 1,600 leaders graduated during her tenure.
