Primary Care at VHC Health
Seeing a primary care provider on a regular basis is one of the best ways to stay healthy. At VHC Health, you can work with a caring and skilled provider who helps you take care of your health in Arlington and the DC metro area.
What Is a Primary Care Provider?
A primary care provider (PCP) is a healthcare professional who helps with your everyday health needs. They're usually the first person you contact when you feel sick or have a health concern that's not an emergency.
Your PCP may be a doctor, nurse practitioner (NP), or physician assistant (PA). Your PCP works with you to:
- Learn about you, your health goals, and your family health history
- Give regular checkups and preventive care
- Perform physical exams for sports, school, or work
- Provide vaccines, such as flu shots and other routine shots
- Recommend health screenings based on your age and needs
- Treat short-term illnesses and minor injuries
- Help manage long-term health problems like diabetes, asthma, or high blood pressure
- Keep your medical records safe and up to date
- Send you to specialists when you need extra care

Specialty Care Support
VHC Health Care Coordinators help you after you leave the hospital. They reach out to schedule follow-up visits by phone or video. This helps make sure care continues without gaps.
