High-Quality Care and Outcomes

VHC Health stands out not only for high-quality clinical care but also providing extra layers of emotional and physical support during your birth experience. Our commitment to improving birth outcomes is reflected in two programs: the Labor Support Volunteer Program and our Early Labor Walking Lanes. Both programs are evidence-based and designed to empower your birth experience.

Labor Support Volunteer Program

Our Labor Support Volunteer Program offers doula-trained Labor Support Volunteers (LSVs)who provide additional care and guidance during labor. These passionate volunteers, including, doulas-in-training, former VHC patients, and other birth-experienced community members, offer encouragement and support throughout the birthing process. Our LSVs work alongside our clinical team to ensure you have the support you need, with priority given to underserved patients and those without additional support persons. To participate, simply let a member of your care team know you are interested, pending availability.

Early Labor Walking Lanes and an Early Labor Lounge

VHC Health is also the first in the Washington, DC metro area to offer Early Labor Walking Lanes and an Early Labor Lounge. This program allows patients and their support people to move during labor, learn strategies to help move labor along effectively, and improve birth outcomes. Cesarean Delivery

VHC Health consistently has a primary Cesarean delivery rate that is significantly lower compared to almost all hospitals in the Washington, DC metro area. Our excellent clinical outcomes reflect our dedication to delivering more than just babies: your safety and well-being in your birthing journey is paramount.

VHC Health’s commitment to reducing Cesarean delivery rates further reflects our dedication to creating a safe and empowering birth experience for all patients.
