Pregnancy & Parenthood
Support Groups

Join VHC Health's support groups to find a safe, welcoming space for parents in Arlington and the DC metro. You and other parents can connect, share experiences, and learn from each other. Our Breastfeeding Support Group and Parent Support Group are open to pregnant, postpartum, and lactating parents. Look forward to support for families during pregnancy and the first year after birth.
Sign up for our free Breastfeeding Basics class, too. It's available online and in person. You'll learn the basics to start breastfeeding with confidence.
Available Support Groups
Breastfeeding Support Group
Looking for help with breastfeeding or pumping? Come to our support group, led by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant® (IBCLC). Ask questions and get guidance in a kind, nonjudgmental space with other new moms. Babies are welcome, and you may feed or care for your infant during the session.
Have a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit? You're also welcome. We can answer questions and support milk supply.
The group meets every Tuesday from 9–10:15 a.m. in the lobby classroom at 1701 N. George Mason Drive. You don't need to register, but please email childbirtheducation@vhchealth.org to let us know you're coming. Bring a support person if you wish.
Parent Support Group
Parenthood brings many feelings and changes, especially in the first year. Join our Parent Support Group for people with children up to a year old. It offers a safe place to talk about emotions, daily challenges, infant care, relationships, and life changes. Share your experiences and feel supported in a respectful space.
This group is currently on hold. Please contact childbirtheducation@vhchealth.org if you would like information or resources for parent support groups.
