What’s Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab?
VHC Health's supervised program includes exercise, education, and support. It helps you:

- Increase your activity level
- Lower your chances of future heart problems
- Manage chronic heart and lung conditions
- Control blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and shortness of breath
- Reduce your risk of going to the hospital again
- Make everyday tasks easier
Conditions We Treat
You may benefit from rehab if you:
- Had a heart attack
- Had a heart procedure, such as bypass surgery, a stent, valve surgery, or a heart transplant
- Have a heart condition like an arrhythmia, angina, or heart failure
- Have a lung condition such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, or lung cancer
- Had a lung transplant
What to Expect
Our team takes time to get to know you and your goals. At your first visit, you’ll have a one‑on‑one evaluation so we can build a program that fits your needs.
Outpatient Program
Rehabilitation takes place on an outpatient basis. You come to the facility for your sessions and go home afterward.
Your Rehabilitation Plan
Your personal rehab plan may include:
- Supervised exercise sessions
- Education about your condition, fitness, nutrition, and healthy habits
- Support from other patients
- Referrals to specialists, such as dietitians or diabetes educators
Exercise Sessions
The number and length of your sessions depend on your health and medical history. Sessions are available five days a week.
Late Cancellation & No-Show
To help us stay on schedule and serve as many patients as possible, give us advance notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. If you cancel with less than 48 business hours’ notice or don’t show up, we may charge a $50 fee.
Your Rehabilitation Team
You’ll work with a team that supports you every step of the way. All sessions include supervision from nurses and exercise physiologists. You'll get experienced care because our program was one of the area's first of its kind 20 years ago.
