Diabetes Prevention Program

More than 84 million adults—1 out of every 3 people—have prediabetes, and most don’t know it. The National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) can help participants cut the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes in half by making lasting lifestyle changes.

The NDPP is a year long program covered by Medicare as well as other insurance plans. The program helps motivate people to make small, realistic changes that ultimately make a big impact on their health:

  • Moderate weight loss
  • Regular physical activity
  • Better stress management and positive coping skills

VHC Health’s Diabetes Prevention Program is fully recognized by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). All classes are taught by a certified Lifestyle Coach.

Do I Qualify?

You’re eligible for the Diabetes Prevention Program if you meet all these criteria:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Body mass index (BMI) of 25 or above (23 or above if you’re Asian American)
  • A blood test in the past year showed prediabetes or you were ever diagnosed with gestational diabetes

Talk to your doctor or take an online prediabetes screening if you’re not sure whether you qualify.
