Tests We Offer
Your doctor may recommend different tests based on your age, personal or family history, symptoms, or other health factors. You have access to:
- Mammography – Uses low-dose X-rays to examine the breast and find tissue changes early
- Breast biopsy, including stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsy – Takes a small sample of tissue for testing in a lab
- Breast ultrasound – Makes images of the inside of the breast using sound waves
- Breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – Creates pictures of breast tissue using magnets and radio waves

What to Expect
When you visit, you’ll notice the center was designed with you in mind. The Women's Imaging Center, next to VHC Health’s soothing indoor waterfall, has its own entrance and quiet waiting area.
You can easily identify our staff thanks to their pink scrubs (uniforms).
We respect your time and work hard to keep visits running smoothly. Expect us to see you for your test within 15 minutes of your arrival.
Your Test Results
Board-certified radiologists review your results as quickly as possible. Ask your doctor when and how to expect your test results. If you're already a VHC Health patient, your results will appear in your MyVHC patient portal.
Follow-Up Care
Rest assured; most test results show no signs of breast cancer. If your test shows something unusual, you may need to come back for more testing.
If you do receive a cancer diagnosis, count on our breast cancer team to be with you every step of the way. Staff at the Women’s Imaging Center connect you to a nurse navigator right away. This professional explains your next steps, helping you get all the care and support you need.
