Todd A. Gardner, MD, MPH, FAAFP earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland in 2000. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Puget Sound Family Medicine Program in Bremerton, Washington and his Master of Public Health degree at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Gardner is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine and is board-certified in Family Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, and Occupational Medicine. He joined VHC Health Primary Care – Vienna in the spring of 2026 after retiring from active duty in the United States Navy where he served for over 25 years as a primary care physician and flight surgeon. Highlights of his Navy career included overseas deployment as the Senior Medical Officer aboard a Naval aircraft carrier, and serving as flight surgeon for the presidential helicopter squadron, “Marine One”.
Dr. Gardner brings a wealth of experience in providing high-quality, patient-centered medical care to Navy and Marine Corps service members, retirees, and dependents of all ages. He is committed to delivering the same level of outstanding service and professional expertise to his patients at VHC Health Primary Care – Vienna.
Dr. Gardner is married and has a daughter in college and a son in high school. In his time outside work, he enjoys sailing, hiking, and spending time outdoors with his family.
