Preya Simlote, MD, FACC, is a general cardiologist who joined VHC Health in 2022.
Originally from Southern Maryland, Dr. Simlote began her training in the accelerate six-year combined BS-MD program at Pennsylvania State University. After completing her Bachelor of Science in two years at Penn State, she went on to obtain her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
She moved to Rochester, NY to complete her medicine residency at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital before returning for a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Thomas Jefferson University. During her fellowship, she was recognized with an award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of echocardiology.
After her fellowship, Dr. Simlote practice at Thomas Jefferson University as a general cardiologist and clinical assistant professor. Her areas of clinical practice include echocardiology, nuclear cardiology, and preventative medicine, including lipid disorders, and heart failure. She has a special clinical interest in women's health and the unique ways heart disease affects women.
In her free time, Dr. Simlote enjoys traveling, cooking new recipes and spending time with her family.
