Sabena Passarello, DNP, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients within the Neurology specialty at VHC Health. 

She received dual bachelor’s degrees from George Mason University in 2013, in fields of Psychology and Nursing. Her nursing career has been devoted to patients within Neurology and Neurovascular populations, in both hospital and clinic settings.

While working in the field of neuroscience nursing, she completed a Master’s degree and, subsequently, Doctorate of Nursing Practice at George Washington University. Her doctoral project was focused on the development of a Stroke Transitions of Care Clinic at Virginia Hospital Center, in order to foster continuity of care and facilitate prompt outpatient follow-up. 

She advocates for patient centered decision-making, while assisting patients with their complex neurological needs throughout their hospital stay and beyond. She is a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and American Academy of Neurology. She serves as a clinical instructor for both nursing and medical students with local universities.
