Loren Chen, MD, FACP

Loren Chen, MD, FACP, is a primary care physician with VHC Health Primary Care - Tysons. A local Virginian, Dr. Chen graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and obtained his Medical Degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Dr. Chen is a board-certified primary care physician. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and remained on faculty as a Hospitalist. He later transitioned to primary care as an Internist with the Internal Medicine Faculty at Jefferson Health (Philadelphia, PA). Before joining VHC Health, Dr. Chen was an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He has held various appointments as the Quality Officer for the GW Medical Faculty Associates, Lead Informatics for DGIM, and the Quality Lead for the GW MFA Community Primary Care Practices.

Dr. Chen looks forward to building meaningful relationships with both patients and colleagues. Through his various experiences, Dr. Chen has garnered invaluable insights into healthcare delivery and believes in teamwork and incorporating the patient’s perspective and circumstances to make a personalized health plan. Dr. Chen seeks to empower his patients to take care of their health so they can live a quality life for as long as possible.

Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with his cherished loved ones, being an active member in his church, playing music, visiting museums, and watching the DC sporting teams win.
