Irma Hashmi, DO, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with VHC Health Gastroenterology interested in the intersections of GI disease in the pregnant patient and primary prevention of GI diseases.

Dr. Hashmi completed her fellowship from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she served as Chief Fellow and completed a Women’s Health track. She graduated from her internal medicine training at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, MA, and attended medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Portland, ME.

Dr. Hashmi is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and an appointed member of the ACG Women’s Committee. A DMV native, Dr. Hashmi enjoys exploring the Smithsonian museums, biking in the woods, and reading with her book club.
