Julia C. Ellison, DO

Julia Centanni (formerly Ellison), DO, is a board-certified internal medicine provider with VHC Health Primary Care.

Dr. Centanni grew up in Mobile, AL, and is proud to say it is the original home of Mardi Gras. She earned an undergraduate degree at the University of South Alabama in biomedical science with a minor in chemistry.  Dr. Centanni always pictured herself as a doctor and was inspired by a mentor, who, as a DO, accepted payment in pecans from migrant farm workers for delivering babies and treating various ailments. She then attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, enjoying her educational experience and the distinct four seasons. Dr. Centanni completed her residency at the University of South Alabama and then returned to West Virginia to teach at her alma mater, WVSOM. Dr. Centanni co-chaired the physical diagnosis course and practiced in the clinic and hospital. After a few years, she moved back to Fairhope, Alabama, and practiced primary care for five years.

Dr. Centanni enjoys exercise, good food, and is certified as a life coach.  Her mantra is: "We are all works in progress, but perfect just the way we are."
