Dr. Eias E. Jweied is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon at VHC Health, bringing a wealth of experience to his role. After completing his cardiovascular and thoracic surgery training at the University of Minnesota in 2009, he practiced in the Chicago area for 13 years before returning to the Washington metropolitan area. Dr. Jweied recently refined his expertise in advanced techniques for managing heart failure, including left ventricular assist device implantation and heart transplantation.

Dr. Jweied earned his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and holds a Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His surgical interests encompass all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve procedures, TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement), and aortic aneurysm repairs. Additionally, he performs general thoracic surgery, including minimally invasive lung resections, and engages in peripheral vascular surgeries, such as carotid endarterectomy and dialysis access procedures.
