Ami Patel, DO is a Gastroenterologist with VHC Health Medical Group.
She earned her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from the College of William and Mary and completed medical school at Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete an Internal Medicine residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Illinois, followed by completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship from Arnot Ogden Medical Center in New York. During medical school, Dr. Patel also earned a Master of Business Administration from Lincoln Memorial University. She is a Northern Virginia native and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
Dr. Patel’s areas of interest include esophageal disease, stomach diseases, intestinal diseases, and colon cancer screening. She believes that spending time with patients along with active listening are keys to providing high quality care and long-term relationships with patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, trying new restaurants, basketball, and traveling.
