Brian G. Choi, MD, MBA, FACC, is the Chief of Heart and Vascular Services at VHC Health and sees patients at the VHC Health Cardiology-Tysons office. A Northern Virginia native, Dr. Choi is dedicated to delivering world-class, compassionate cardiovascular care to his home community.
Dr. Choi earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University before receiving his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School. He then completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Before leading the integrated heart and vascular team at VHC Health, Dr. Choi served as a Professor of Medicine and Radiology, Chief Medical Information Officer, and Co-Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the George Washington University. Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology, he also helps shape the future of medicine by participating in national standard-setting for cardiology certification on behalf of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Choi specializes in the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and valvular heart disease. His patient care philosophy centers on partnership, ensuring that each patient is fully informed and empowered in their health journey.
A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Choi has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and is a regularly invited speaker at international medical conferences. He has been consistently named a Washingtonian "Top Doctor" since 2012 and was inducted into the Washingtonian Top Doctor Hall of Fame in 2026.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Choi remains highly active. A former US Rowing Collegiate All-American, he still competes in international masters regattas. He is an avid golfer and enjoys skiing, racquet sports, and cheering on the Commanders, Capitals, Wizards, and Nationals. Above all, he treasures spending time with his wife and children.
